Rolling Stock and Locomotives

Railcar 18 – original diesel railcar of the County Donegal Railway which entered service with the County Donegal Railway in 1940. Badly damaged by a fire on 7 November 1949, it had to be rebuilt and as a result observers noted that it lost much of its character. Restored to its original shape and features with a rebuild in 1996 by the N.W.I.R.S. (North West of Ireland Railway Society). It is one of only six original County Donegal Railcars still in existence. On loan by kind arrangement of the N.W.I.R.S.
